About Nicky

Hi, I’m Nicky, I’m so glad you are here,

My approach is shaped by my own humbling and life-changing journey through pain, exhaustion and chronic health issues. For years, I lived at 100 miles an hour.

I was a working mum, a wife and a physiotherapist—the capable one who kept going, cared for everyone else and was always ready for the next challenge. Over time, I began experiencing persistent fatigue, headaches, anxiety, insomnia and body pain. More than anything, there was a growing sense that something wasn’t right. But I didn’t feel I had time to be unwell. I felt guilty that I couldn’t be the energetic mum, present partner or supportive physio I wanted to be.

So, I did what so many of us do: I pushed through. I tried to outrun how I felt, even signing up for another marathon in the hope that it would help me feel like myself again. Instead, my health continued to decline until my body finally stopped me. I collapsed, was taken to hospital and was later diagnosed with POTS and burnout.

But a diagnosis didn’t bring an easy path to recovery. I felt frightened, alone and deeply misunderstood.

I spent countless hours searching for answers and so much money on practitioners, treatments, courses and restrictive healing protocols—always hoping the next one would be the thing that finally made me well. I tried so hard to fix myself, yet I continued to feel disconnected from my body.

My recovery began when I stopped seeing my body as the problem and started learning how to listen to it. Slowly and gently, I began to understand my nervous system, release the guilt around resting and create a sense of safety within myself again. That experience now shapes everything I offer. I understand how exhausting it is to keep searching.

I understand the guilt of being unwell when people depend on you, and the fear that you may never feel like yourself again. But I also know that your body isn’t working against you. Its signals may be asking for your attention, care and a different way forward.

“I know what it means to feel lost in your own body—and I know that a gentler way forward is possible for  you."

Today, I look back with deep gratitude for my journey and everything it has taught me. My desperate search to feel well again led me to study, question and learn far beyond my original training.

Over the years, I gathered knowledge from many different approaches—but the real transformation came when I learned how to bring it all together and work with the whole person, rather than continually trying to fix individual symptoms.

From this journey, Effortless Alignment was created. It brings together my professional knowledge as a physiotherapist and somatic practitioner with the understanding that can only come from having lived through my own healing journey.

My mission is to help you feel heard, supported and safe in your body again—so that wellbeing becomes less about endlessly fixing yourself and more about living with greater ease, joy and trust.

I believe that when one person begins to feel well, the effect reaches far beyond them. It gently ripples into their family, their relationships, their work and the way they move through the world. That is the beautiful butterfly effect of healing.

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Together, we can learn to listen to your body, work with it rather than against it, and move towards greater ease, confidence and wellbeing.

This is Effortless Alignment—and I would be honoured to walk beside
